OVERVIEW

When I was young, I spent a portion of my childhood growing up in Mexico. During this time I met two brothers, Bernardo and Diego, with whom I often went surfing. Since those early days, I couldn’t help but notice the significant differences in lifestyle between the people I knew in my hometown of Southern California and those in Mexico. Witnessing Bernardo and Diego navigate life’s currents left an indelible mark on my worldview, prompting me to ponder what true success looks like. While society often looks to those with fame or fortune for guidance, I’ve found that the most profound lessons often emanate not from the limelight but from those quietly living lives rich in meaning. Through this short documentary, I hope to stir people to question conventional notions of success and find gratitude in the awe-inspiring beauty nature provides.
